Thanks for the tips. I totally agree – there are many other important factors to SEO other than just link building. On site optimization is important, and most importantly to have good, unique content. Plus, I think it’s increasingly more important to have people staying on your site and looking at multiple pages.

What a great interview, took me an hour to go through. Lots of good stuff here. Agree the old fashioned (basic) SEO still applies. It’s just that there are so many other new ways to optimize as well. Some may get you in trouble though 🙂

This is a great interview.

A big problem I find with link building is people’s idea of doing “everything at the beginning”, to almost try & beat the sandbox. But this actually ends up hurting them as the domains gets flagged quickly. Thus the link profile tends to look very unnatural & rankings tank (or don’t even materialize).

Slow & steady wins the race.

He made some great points. I can see how some people may be getting caught up in links. Links wont do much for you if your on-page SEO isn’t inline.
