The truth is that article directories were hit bad. But it’s still a good strategy to get backlinks because no matter how much value a link will give you, if your competition doesn’t utilize them, you’ve got one more chance to ourtank them 😉

Yea, I saw a drop in article directory traffic, but and increase in my organic traffic. I think I may focus on creating content for my own properties and not distributing articles. I’ll have to find other ways to get great backlinks.

Hello Jacob, thank you for the comment! That post is the reason I came up with this post. There’s a huge shift of traffic and the table in that post best describes it 🙂

I’ve stoped looking at pagerank for quite some time now and it has helped me a lot. Wish i could stop looking at alexa too!

Thank you for the tips Angel. I have not seen the page rank of ezinearticles go down very much so I did a bit of digging and found this article that tries to breakdown the losers and winners.
