Excellent advice! I come across many sites who's buttons are not clearly identified. I went to go 'like' the Facebook page, but instead it just liked it in my Timeline. I had to go hunt down their Facebook page in order to like it. But that may not be their fault, they may think that icon is for liking their FB page. So it is important to do some research on the buttons that you place on your site.

Great info, Adam!

Adam, 3 geat points! point number 2 is a funny one, because there was never the option of share or follow so most sites have simply over the years added both, whereas realistically if you re-designed the site today both buttons would be in much better places!

my site is probably a great example of social buttons stuck on at a later date!!!

good advice! thanks
