I would only add few tips that will increase the SEO value of the copy:
1- Using keywords in the blog image file name separated by _. For example if you blog about Twitter marketing tips, your blog image file name should be: Twitter_marketing_tips.jpg.
2- I agree with you 100% on not obsessing about keywords density especially that Google Panda ranking depends on quality content that people will trust and share
3- Also Google Panda hates redundancy which is major trap that some copywriters fall into, aiming to send a consistent brand message. Yes, they are promoting the same brand but each copy has to be unique and informative.
