Ok, yesterday, I may have lied but unintentionally. As you can see, the change has already taken place. I found that it wasn't as difficult as I expected. I can't guarantee everything will be working perfectly yet, but whatever bugs crop up will get fixed asap. Hope you enjoy the new site.
Ok, finally got the logo linked to the home page. It took a bit of time to get it right, but the information over at CSS Replace Text By Image Example 3
did the trick. (use View Source to see the css code and the html code)
I started out by reading this: http://wellstyled.com/css-replace-text-by-image.html and then followed the instructions at the bottom of that page for example 3.
Of course, the display:none might be a problem for the search engines, thinking it is some kind of blackhat tactic, but it is in my opinion a legitimate use of the attribute. The text is the same as the image text, so it should be ok. But what do I know? LOL.
Thanks to Bruno for getting me on the right track!
here is my test page for this:
optimizacija.com/test.htm
its working, just check code and css file test.css
but are you sure that you want to use hidden text 🙂
Thanks, Bruno, with your help, I got it working. And I’m not worried about the hidden text. If the search engines have a problem with it, too bad. Just like I made the decision when I moved to WordPress, that I wasn’t going to worry about lost rankings, the same applies with this. I think this is a legit use of hidden text, and shouldn’t be penalized for it. If I am, then so be it. It’s their mistake, not mine. 🙂
This is great Donna. I’m a big fan.
