I really wish that the YouTube keyword tool was a bit more comprehensive than it currently is. It is really frustrating and awkward to use in my opinion. Perhaps I've been spoiled with the AdWords Keyword Tool but I think the YT version is sub par. It is, however, the only tool for the job at the moment and it is important to know how to use. Maybe we will be lucky enough to see some improvements to it in the near future.

To the comment above this one (Maureen McCabe): using the YouTube keyword tool is essential to anyone looking to add YouTube to their marketing mix. The AdWords Keyword tool only shows information from Google searches and doesn't really help determine what videos people are searching for.

Thanks for the post!

I'm a Toronto Marketing Consultant for small business and have 2 videos.

I've PPC campaign (with your company) and know my top keyword phrases. I used the tool doing a broad and exact search for Canada and it yielded nothing - "not enough data"

My videos appear on the first page of google - so how and why is this tool useful for Canadian businesses?

Thank you,
Maureen McCabe, Marketing Consultant
