Tallahassee Ranks Amongst Most Expensive Markets for Keywords in South Atlantic
SEP's ongoing research into PPC Campaigns has revealed that Tallahassee was the 15th most expensive city in South Atlantic in keyword bids in Google Adwords for the month of June 2017. Tallahassee also ranks amongst the most expensive cities in Florida, ranking 10th. In the study, North Charleston ranked as the most expensive city in South Atlantic for keywords, while Portsmouth ranked as the least expensive city.
Google Adwords Keyword Prices 73% Higher in Tallahassee than Gainesville
SEP’s research also tracks Google Adwords price changes and trends in cities across Canada and the U.S. Recent data shows that average prices in Tallahassee are 73% higher than in Gainesville. The average price of a click in Tallahassee is $15.53.
This price difference is understandable though, given the population of Gainesville is less than Tallahassee, which generally means less competition and therefore lower prices.
To understand if prices in Tallahassee are relatively low, we also compared prices with Huntsville which has a similar population, and found the average price of a click in Tallahassee was 119% higher than in Huntsville. This suggests that perhaps Tallahassee prices are not relatively low.
The Price Rank shows how expensive keywords are in certain industry and segment relative to other cities in a country, region and province.

About SEP Research*
An ongoing PPC Study by Search Engine People tracks and monitors how paid search in North America’s Top Cities is changing over time for select industries.
The study illustrates the Average Price-Per-Click in a given city for select Industries and their related segments. Additionally, it reveals its current rank to other markets in a Country, Province, and its Month over Month % Price change.
This PPC study monitors the prices of keywords, number of advertisers competing for those keywords, and search volumes. To ensure relative market-to-market comparison keywords tracked are based on sufficient search volumes in all markets studied.
The study includes a limited numbers of keywords to represent each industry, and specific segments in each industry. The main industries tracked are:

- Real Estate
- Special Events
Currently the data is updated on monthly basis for nearly 200 keywords in over 300 cities across North America. SEP will continue to add keywords, industries, and baskets over time, so if your industry is not here yet, please check back periodically.
