Tacoma Ranks Amongst Most Expensive Markets for Keywords in Pacific States

SEP's ongoing research into PPC Campaigns has revealed that Tacoma was the 10th most expensive city in Pacific States in keyword bids in Google Adwords for the month of October 2017. Tacoma also ranks amongst the most expensive cities in Washington, ranking 3rd. In the study, San Buenaventura ranked as the most expensive city in Pacific States for keywords, while Ontario ranked as the least expensive city.

Google Adwords Keyword Prices 83% Higher in Tacoma than Kent

SEP’s research also tracks Google Adwords price changes and trends in cities across Canada and the U.S. Recent data shows that average prices in Tacoma are 83% higher than in Kent. The average price of a click in Tacoma is $15.25.

This price difference is understandable though, given the population of Kent is less than Tacoma, which generally means less competition and therefore lower prices.

To understand if prices in Tacoma are relatively low, we also compared prices with Oxnard which has a similar population, and found the average price of a click in Tacoma was 19% higher than in Oxnard. This suggests that perhaps Tacoma prices are not relatively low.

The Price Rank shows how expensive keywords are in certain industry and segment relative to other cities in a country, region and province.

An ongoing PPC Study by Search Engine People tracks and monitors how paid search in North America’s Top Cities is changing over time for select industries.

The study illustrates the Average Price-Per-Click in a given city for select Industries and their related segments. Additionally, it reveals its current rank to other markets in a Country, Province, and its Month over Month % Price change.

This PPC study monitors the prices of keywords, number of advertisers competing for those keywords, and search volumes. To ensure relative market-to-market comparison keywords tracked are based on sufficient search volumes in all markets studied.

The study includes a limited numbers of keywords to represent each industry, and specific segments in each industry. The main industries tracked are:
