What Is It?:
SEPIdentifier is a web based tool (ie. you can access it through the web or via your iphone) that shows b2b companies, which companies are visiting their site in real time. It detects the ip address of the visitor, and matches that to a list showing companies using various ip ranges. The result, is a solution that permits b2b companies to see which companies are visiting their site, while they're visiting.

Above is the main screen, which shows the visiting company to your site, the location of the person visiting, the number of pages visited, and the time of the visit. But it doesn't stop there by any means. By clicking on the "Company" name or "Details", you'll get much more information about the visit.

The above image is a screenshot from the 'Visit Details" page. This page can provide a great deal of insight into the visiting company's motivation, and indicate if in fact, it is a possible lead. Details include:
a. referring url
b. keyword (if applicable)
c. list of pages visited (in order)
d. time spent on each page

Beneath these 'Visit' details, is a summary of information pulled from other databases about the company, often including its url, city, industry, employee count, phone number, province/state, and even a description of their operations (see screenprint below).

Company Information on Details Page Screenprint:

Beneath the company details information, is a map showing the site visitors location on a map, On the right hand side, it also shows another VERY VALUABLE piece of information; a company's complete history of visiting the web site (sine this tool was installed on the site), with details about each visit in chronological order. Merely click on the link, and it will show complete details about each visit.

How To Use It?:
By considering all these details, it conspires to tell a story about the motivations of the visiting company. If they' came into the site as a result of a search engine search for a product/service, then they're likely a potential client. If the visitor visited product or service pages, then there's a good chance they're a client candidate.

You can also look at the complete history of a company visiting your site, which can give you a great indication of where they are in the purchase process. If they're looking for very generic terms (eg. fittings) then they're early in the process. If on the other hand they return to your site after a few days, and start looking at pages like "About Us" or "Advantages of Dealing With Your Company", then you know they're late in the buying process, and nearer to requesting a quote.
