Is It Time To Switch To A Social Browser?

Flock. I remember that being the name of a browser that made using Flickr easier, wasn't it? Ok, I don't remember exactly what it was all about, but no matter what it used to be, it's now being dubbed "The Social Web Browser". And with SEO evolving and merging with social media so much these days, maybe it's time to switch to a browser that has a focus on social networking.

Staying connected with our social media friends and sharing with them across networks is a challenge, but Flock's aim it to make all of that easier. Here's a list of what Flock claims as its social networking features:

Like Firefox, there are lots of addons that can extend the browser's functionality, and I'm sure at least some of the existing SEO extensions for Firefox will work with Flock as well. Most Firefox extensions work with Flock (although not all do), but I'm sure there's at least a few SEO-related ones that will work.

I'm not sure I'm quite ready to wean myself off of Firefox, but I do plan to play with Flock in my free time (yeah, like there's so much of that), and I'll make a decision later on. Still, with the social scene being so important these days to our online efforts, it makes sense to use a tool that makes those connections as easy and seamless as possible.

If you've been using Flock, let us know what you think.
