Now that Google has released its Desktop search beta, it looks like MSN will step up to the plate to enter the contest within the next two months. According to this article at http://news.zdnet.com/2100-3513_22-5423080.html, Microsoft has confirmed that we will see "some good MSN search technology in this calendar year, probably late the second half". While the desktop search war will be interesting (Yahoo has also just bought a company to help them provide this ability), it is still the search engines themselves that matter most to SEOs. And the new MSN search engine looks like a promising competitor. Very much looking forward to this matchup. Bring it on!
