MySpace all over My Facebook

Begin at the beginning and go on till you come to the end: then stop
-- King " Alice in Wonderland

For many people Facebook is a tool you occasionally peruse to catch up with (or spy on) old friends and acquaintances.

What is the use of a book, without pictures or conversations?

While there are now over 500 million accounts on Facebook and countless applications filling up our news feeds, its about to get a lot more busy.

MySpace has just launched sync with Facebook, so when a user over in the land of Myspace (which is actually their space) now adds a game, application, or update they have the option to also send this over to Facebook.

Read the directions and directly you will be directed in the right direction

The sync setup could not be more simple to activate. When you login to your MySpace account you will be presented with a little gear button next to the Share button for your update.

If you click the gear button you simply have to check the box for either Facebook and/or Twitter and follow the onscreen directions to complete the process.

It would be so nice if something made sense for a change.

The good? If you are active on Myspace you can now effectively broadcast your life to both platforms easily and quickly. If you already have a presence on Myspace this is a great way to get your Facebook friends to come over and check your Myspace page. If you have music on your Myspace for example you can now lure over the users on Facebook to get more exposure.

The bad? If you are like me and mostly use Facebook to peer through the life window of your old and current friends it means not only app updates like Farmville, Mobwars and countless other time wasting updates but also updates from Myspace.

My news feed usually consists of 80% things that I could be much better off without seeing and I have a feeling as more Myspace users initiate the sync with Facebook I am going to have a lot more filtering if I am to continue to peer through the magic looking glass.
