Peter Young: Search Blogger of the Day

This is one of a series of posts in which I will be highlighting each member of the Search Bloggers list, with commentary on one of their posts (new or old). Look for this series to continue once or twice a week for the next couple of months.

Meet Peter Young, the Search Blogger of the Day. Today I'd like to highlight a post called The impact of Longer Snippets on SEO. I love it when folks notice detailed minutia and Peter's notice of longer snippets is a case in point. He brings up some interesting thoughts on how we can take advanatage of this change (if indeed it is a long-term change), and it also got me to thinking (or re-thinking) about making the best use of whatever space we are given. Despite the fact that we can't always control what gets shown as the snippet, we do at least have some measure of control. My question is, how much time do you spend in tweaking your meta description in the hopes of it provoking searcher interest and click-throughs? Would longer snippets change what you do there?
