SEO SEARCH SPECIALIST
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for an experienced and talented SEO Search Specialist, with an understanding of what is needed to drive our clients on-page and off-page SEO strategies and campaigns. This is an exciting opportunity for the right individual to make their mark within one of Canada’s leading digital marketing agencies. To be successful in this role you will already have:
- Good hands-on Link Building/Outreach experience
- Thorough knowledge of SEO and search ranking factors
- An ability to identify critical algorithm updates and understand how they impact our clients

Position Description
- Create and implement link building strategies based on competitive analysis, identifying opportunities and gaps within clients’ back link profiles and cleansing where required.
- Full site level audits performing thorough and detailed website analysis. Identifying current problems and opportunities, with a focus on crawlability, site architecture and site content.
- Support the development of our client’s keyword strategies, monitor monthly ranking and traffic performance, and adjust strategies as needed.
- Work with our outreach software to identify and leverage influencers and related blogs that can be used for content marketing.
- Identify key structural, technical, and editorial optimization opportunities to improve our client’s SEO performance, while managing the tactical execution of SEO strategies and recommendations.
- Act as an evolving knowledge base for scalable link-building best practices, while also understanding the latest algorithm changes and how these apply to our clients.
- Reporting, analyzing and troubleshooting client performance, including the completion of competitive research to identify additional opportunities.
Requirements
- 3+ years SEO/Organic search marketing experience
- Bachelor's level degree (preferably in Computer Science or Marketing)
- Ability to communicate technical expertise and advice to both a technical and non-technical audience
- Expertise in on-page and off-page health-checks and audits
- Experience using tools and techniques to develop keyword strategies across multiple industries
- Applied knowledge of link building, on-page optimization, and ranking factors
- Strong technical SEO background (display code JavaScript, CSS, html, xml sitemap)
- Able to monitor site performance across a range of SEO tools including SEMRush, Ahrefs, Majestic, and Screaming Frog
- Knowledge of analytics packages such as Google Analytics, Search Console, and other third-party keyword research, and optimization tools
- An in-depth understanding of search engine behavior including, what content search engines crawl and read, what practices to avoid, and what on-page changes will have the most impact based on current algorithms
- Familiarity with paid search marketing and how paid and organic search works together
- A passion to stay up to date on current industry practices, news, and algorithm updates
