This has been widely reported by others already, but I like to note important tidbits like this here on SEO Scoop for future reference. I can't tell you the number of times I run a quick search here to find something I noted long before. So, here are the instructions for keeping the ODP description out of the SERPs (so far, this works in both MSN and now Google as well).

***

To direct all search engines that support the meta tag not to use ODP information for the page's description, use the following:

< META NAME="ROBOTS" CONTENT="NOODP" >

***

To direct Google specifically from using this information to describe a page, use the following:

< META NAME="GOOGLEBOT" CONTENT="NOODP" >

***

To direct MSN specifically from using this information to describe a page, use the following:

< META NAME="msnbot" CONTENT="NOODP" >
