10 Important Google Plus Updates You Might Have Missed

To help you stay up to date with Google plus, we've put together these ten important updates you might have missed.

At the end of this post you will find out how to get the Google plus invite if you are still waiting for one to join.

1. Grace Period to Fix Profile Name:

Google+ does not allow people to use nicknames and this has been a hot topic since the launch of Google +.

Recently Googles CEO Eric Schmidt said:

Google+ is completely optional. In fact, many many people want to get in, if you dont want to use it, you dont have to.

Initially Google was closing all the profiles which were violating Googles common name policy. Now they have started bit linear approach and allowing users to fix the name issue within 4 days grace period without shutting their account.

Saurabh explains the policy in details in the video below.

2. +1 button Chrome extension:

+1 is a great way to share and recommend product or services with family & friends. Because +1 is still new, there are many websites and blogs havent installed it yet.

+1 button chrome extension has resolved this issue now and after installing this chrome extension you can +1 any page on the web.

3. Google Translate for Google+:

To use Google +, you dont have to go to school to learn English, if you dont want to. This chrome extension can help you to translate Google + posts and comments into 50 languages using the power of Google translate.

You can get the extension here.

4. Inviting Friends on Google + Got Easy:

Google plus is still in beta and you can only join via invite. Previously to invite your friends you required their e-mail ID but now you can invite friends by simply sharing a link.

See in the video below how you can do this.

5. Share directly from the +1 button:

Now you can share pages on to your Google + stream with out leaving the page, no more copy and pasting of the links is required.

You can see how it works in the video below:

6. Start a Hangout Directly from Youtube:

Hang out is one of my favourite feature on Google + and it is getting more interesting; you can start the hang out directly from Youtube

7. Profile verification badges:

Google + profile verification has been started; currently Google is verifying profiles for public figures, celebrities and people with large following. I dont know yet how the profile verification process works, please feel free to share in the comments if you know this.

8. Floating Google+ bar:

This new feature will allow you to access your Google + bar controls no matter how deep and down you are in your stream. Google+ bar float at the top of the screen when you scroll down.

9. Collapse and expand comments:

This feature can be a great time saver if you have people like Chris Brogan in your circles. Now you can easily chose to expand or collapse comments in your stream, which can really help you to navigate through your stream really quickly.

Check out what Jonathan has to say about this feature in the video below:

10. +1 button on the mobile:

Google plus mobile app is still available only for Android and iPhone. It was really annoying that you could not +1 any update so far when using Google plus via mobile.

Now you can use +1 button from your mobile.

In compliance with Ontario’s non-essential business closure our physical offices are closed until further notice. Fortunately our willingness to adopt work from home and the required technology over the past two years has allowed us to continue our operations without impact. For our valued clients and partners you can expect the same great level of service and execution you have become accustomed to.

Many clients/prospects have reached out to us in an effort to introduce new campaigns as quickly as possible. In an effort to help our clients pivot we have increased our campaign build capacity. We are now able to turn new campaigns over in 2-3 business days opposed to the typical 5-7 business day turnaround time. Please note that campaign launch approvals from the vendor side (Google, Bing, Facebook, Instagram etc.) may be delayed as those companies migrate to work from home.

For existing clients please reach out to your account manager with any questions you may have.
